"When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears. When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your f e a r s." Evanescence » My immortal
I started working on this work in the... July of 2008 Then I couldn't as many as today. I found this work on my drive month ago and I started to systematically improve it. Here's the effect.

This whole piece seems to flow like the water and the waxy texture of the leaves when the sun is shining on them, and it comes together very well, especially with the ripples in the water that are of corresponding color to the woman's dress to show motion, but yet they seem really peaceful just like the woman's face appears to be. You've made it seem like she is actually laying in the water with the way her dress looks and the way it becomes less clear as it goes down deeper into the wtar and seems almost magical/fantasy like the whole image.
This is an absolutely marvelous piece! Indeed one of the best from your gallery.
In my opinion, the concept you selected for this piece made it even harder to portray with a big impact, due to how overdone this particular concept (women in a white dress floating in a sea of lily pads) is. I do however, like the angle and perspective that this image is directed from, as it adds a small element of individuality to the piece.
Regarding the technical skills in this artwork, it is well done. Despite the fact that this manipulation looks to me as if it was fairly simple, I do quite like how you've painted over the hair. I also really like that you cant partially see her dress underwater: this seems to me to be very realistic.
One thing that I think could possibly need improvement is the ripple effect that you created. It is decent and it is obvious that it is intended to be ripples, but it is not quite have the same realistic effect as the rest of the entire piece.
Overall, beautifully done image as well as very appealing to the eye (I love the colors).
